Love Set in Stone

Rickele & Drew met sometime in 2008ish through Potsdam Rugby; although neither one of them actually remember meeting! Their first real memory of a shared conversation was a few years after graduation. Drew was getting ready to move to Minnesota, while Rickele was living & working in Glens Falls. They both attended a Rugby alums New Years Eve party & when Drew sat down next to Rickele, she said blatantly "What are you doing talking to me, I always thought you hated me. You were kind of an asshole in college". Rickele doesn’t mess around people! She gets right down to the point. Flash forward to 2018 & once again they were attending the same NYE party at Mike & Maura’s! There were a bunch of Potsdam peeps; dancing, singing, the whole nine yards! Drew was in town visiting & he remembered their last heated conversation. Only this time there was a different kind of heat! As the drinks flowed, the flirting progressed & then at the stroke of midnight, they kissed! Sparks flew & then….crashed because those drinks finally settled & were not cooperating!! Needless to say, they both slept on opposite ends of the couch that night.

The next day, it was as if nothing had ever happened because Rickele didn't see or hear from Drew until the following NYE. Anyone else noticing a pattern here?! Only this time, Rickele knew he was coming into town. They talked prior to his arrival & agreed to keep things casual. No expectations here! But since Drew was in town for a couple weeks, they decided to hung out. Turns out, they really hit it off & only a few short weeks later they made it official. A few more weeks after that, Drew took Rickele to NYC to see Aladdin on Broadway. During that trip, he told her he loved her & the feeling was absolutely mutual! After that, the decision was made. Drew would back from Minnesota, so they could be together. In December of 2019, they bought their first house. They even moved in on the holiday that originally brought them together…New Year's Eve!

This round rose cut ice diamond demands attention! With so many facets & intense clarity, it’s no wonder a simplistic setting came to fruition when we designed this ring. At first we thought to pair it with salt & pepper mini diamonds, but upon experimentation, it was clear this ring was meant to stand solitaire.

Rickele describes her style as comfortable & functional with a femme flare. So, our goal was to create a clean yet minimalistic ring style with a dash of rustic undertones! To achieve this, we chose 14g sterling silver wire & layered it with a hammered texture. Then paired it with a smooth bezel & a curved line. After they exchange their vows, a simple hammered wedding band will be added & sealed with a kiss!

Drew proposed the Sunday after Thanksgiving. They were on their way to his mom's house for dinner, but decided to make a pit stop at Vrooms Nose for a quick hike. At the top, Rickele was blissfully taking pictures of Drew & her nephew doing silly poses when suddenly Drew says, “all right one more”. Then he got down on one knee. Rickele screamed "are you serious right now?!" Oh yes he was! Rickele, of course, said YES! After their celebratory dinner, in true Drew Lomax fashion, her now fiancé went out of town for a week & she didn't see him again until the following Friday. “I mean he literally left that Sunday after dinner” jokes Rickele!

The happy couple is planning to have their nuptials on September 3rd, 2022, although nothing is quite formalized yet due to the pandemic. Wishing you all the love & prosperity Rickele & Drew. Happiest of New Years to you lovebirds!!
