A Transformative Time
Danielle said that I was the first person who came to her mind when she thought about her wedding party jewelry. She wanted bolo ties for the men & bracelets for the women. She had a stone in mind for the ladies, but was open for ideas when it came to the other pieces. I am currently studying Human Design with the intention of weaving it into my custom jewelry practices, so I asked Danielle if she was interested in being my first HD jewelry client. She had some basic knowledge of the science & agreed to help me with my experiment!
I gathered her & Jackson’s birth information as well as the date, time & location of their wedding. I created their charts, studied them & came up with a concept that felt aligned with their wants as well as the energy of their wedding. The bridesmaids were wearing a dusty rose palette & the groomsmen wore black suits. So we did a color swap when it came to the jewelry. Rhodochrosite was the first stone that came to mind, so I explored it then I found Rhodonite. This black & pink stone nurtures love, encourages brotherhood & stabilizes your mood in a high pressure situation. It grounds & balances ones energy while also activating the heart chakra. I kept smiling as I was reading because I knew this stone was significant. Plus it matched their colors perfectly which was a huge bonus! Then I started looking into Kyanite, the stone that Danielle suggested. It’s shape is unique & I had never worked with it before, but as I read the properties I knew it would make a lovely addition. Black Kyanite is an energy amplifier. It connects you to your spirit guides & is helpful for life transitions. It opens the throat chakra & stimulates higher consciousness. Like Rhodonite, it balances & grounds energy simultaneously making it the perfect compliment. The Grooms piece was the last to explore. Danielle was surprising Jackson with this gift & wanted his to stand out from the crowd. After looking through his chart I discovered that Jackson is a Manifesting Generator with a sacral authority. The solar plexus governs emotional awareness, moods, feelings passions & desires. Because his is open, I thought it would be nice to find a stone that supports this area of his chart so he could get an extra boost of confidence. Gold Tigers Eye had all the elements that I was searching for. It’s a transformation stone thats great for taking action during new life phases. It strengthens the solar plexus chakra, promotes confidence & grounds ones emotional state. It was a wonderful blend of bold & beautiful, so I knew it was the winner. The best part was that Rhodonite has little specks of yellow between its pink & black so it paired very well with the overall color scheme. It was a designers dream!
After I worked out all the details with the couple, I went on vacation for 10 days. I had 6 months to complete their order so I was feeling pretty good about being this far ahead. I returned to the US on March 11th & on March 23rd my life got flipped upside down. I was driving to a memorial vending event in Buffalo, NY towing my trailer when I noticed a large object in the road. I thought it was a branch so I decided to keep going but when I got closer, I realized it was a giant piece of metal with spikes. I was limited on choices by that time. I couldn’t merge so it was hit it or try to go around it. I tried option #2… My trailer started to sway then my truck started to spin. Before I knew it, my truck was flipping across the highway while dragging my trailer behind it. Fortunately, I landed right side up & sustained zero injuries. Just a scratch on my hand! No other cars were involved & the tanks on the front of the trailer didn’t blow up which was my greatest fear. You can read the full post on the accident here. All in all, the accident really shook me. Especially because in the moment, I was more worried about my things & not myself. However over time, I realized the significance of the accident & the lessons it was meant to teach me. I am more valuable than my things. I am worthy event without my business or achievements. I deserve to be loved & cared for. It’s ok to ask for help. I will come back stronger than before.
At this point, my whole studio was inside the trailer, but now it was time to move it back. It took a few weeks, but I got everything reestablished in my home studio. I updated Danielle & Jackson on my situation, but assured them that I’d be able to get their order done. I had all the stones ready & my designs thought out. I mentally prepared then threw myself deep into my craft. I was limited on materials & time, so I got creative. I wanted twist wire, but didn’t have it. I took a few strands of my round wire & twisted it myself using a method I learned back in college. All it takes is a drill, a vice & a lot of elbow grease! I had to call my Dad in for back up, but we figured out how to get the best results. It was a technique that I’ve always wanted to try again & I loved the results! I kept going, experimenting with warmer tones like brass & adding patterned wire into the mix. I started working with the Kyanite wands and realized their shape was really unique & called for a different setting than I originally planned. I changed the entire design & made a style of bracelet that I had never done before. The grand finale was Jackson’s tigers eye bolo. The stone was large & extremely eye catching! I felt like it needed something more, something that would really make it stand out. I remembered that their wedding was going to be under a full moon & surrounded by trees. I took out my stamps & chose two that would make it POP! I finished the accents & soldered them to the bezel which is also something I’ve never tried before. The outcome was INCREDIBLE & I was proud of myself for pushing the limits! This collection of pieces all challenged me in the best way. I tried new things, troubleshooted, pivoted, asked for guidance & used Human Design to ignite my fire. The project took me about a month & showed me that I still got it! Even after trauma, I have the ability to channel the energy & use it for the greater good.
Because I used all the time I could get, I hand delivered these beauties to their rehearsal dinner which was a very enjoyable experience. Danielle & Jackson invited me to stay for the meal & I got to know a few of the guests. Even made some new friends & valuable business connections! I stayed well into the night & listened to stories about the couple, the adventures they’ve had & the plans for the party. I had so much fun with everyone there & knew the wedding was going to be a time they’ll never forget. Danielle & Jackson were sweet enough to offer me an invite to fill an open seat, but I politely declined because I had exerted so much energy into the jewelry that I knew my body needed the day to rest instead. I had that FOMO feeling on the drive home, but when my head hit the pillow my fears evaporated into dreamscape.
I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to contribute to this magical celebration. The lush greenery, luminous florals & happy expressions radiate through the photos! This day was special & knowing my jewelry brought smiles to the faces of the couples closest friends & family is something that I truly treasure. Not only do I know they felt the love & energy behind the pieces, but next time they pick up their bolo or bracelet, they’ll remember the fun they had honoring their two best friends.
Thank you Danielle & Jackson! Wishing you all the love & happiness in your marriage & beyond.
XOXO, BB 🌹
